Rapper and reality television personality Tommie Lee was arrested during the 2026 FIFA World Cup after authorities said she allegedly entered Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, through an unauthorized entrance without a valid ticket.

The incident occurred on July 11, during the quarterfinal match between England and Norway, one of the tournament’s most anticipated knockout fixtures. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Lee, whose real name is Atasha Chizaah Jefferson, allegedly bypassed security measures and made her way into the stadium before being stopped by deputies in the 100-level seating section.

Authorities charged the rapper with interference with a sporting or entertainment event, a third-degree felony under Florida law. Investigators said she entered the venue without proper authorization, prompting law enforcement officers on site to take her into custody.

The arrest quickly drew attention on social media after news of the incident emerged. However, officials described it as an isolated security matter and said it did not disrupt the match or affect the overall safety of fans attending the game.

Lee was one of six people arrested during the England versus Norway fixture. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office also confirmed that 19 spectators were ejected from the stadium for separate incidents, while tournament operations continued without interruption.

Court records indicate that Lee was later released after posting a $1,000 bond. She has since pleaded not guilty to the charge. As with any criminal case, the allegations remain before the court, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Tommie Lee rose to prominence through her appearances on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta before launching a music career and later featuring on other reality television projects. Over the years, she has remained a regular subject of entertainment headlines, often attracting public attention.

The arrest comes as the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues to draw massive crowds across host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Tournament organizers have maintained heightened security at all venues, with thousands of spectators passing through extensive screening procedures before every match.

As the case moves through the Florida court system, the incident has also highlighted the strict security measures in place at World Cup venues, where unauthorized entry is treated as a serious offence regardless of a person’s public profile.

How Much Did Love Island USA 2026 Winners Trinity and Bryce Win?

Published

After six weeks of recouplings, bombshell arrivals and public votes, Love Island USA Season 8 came down to four couples. In the end, viewers chose Trinity Tatum and Bryce Alakai Dettloff as the winners, earning the show’s $100,000 prize.

Unlike previous seasons, however, the finale ended with a noticeable change that surprised longtime fans.

For years, Love Island USA followed the same tradition as its UK counterpart. Once the winning couple was announced, one person randomly received an envelope containing the prize money while the other got an empty envelope. The contestant with the money then decided whether to keep all $100,000 or split it with their partner.

That dramatic moment never arrived this season.

Instead, host Ariana Madix announced that Trinity and Bryce had won the $100,000 prize together, with no envelope twist or last-minute decision. The money was awarded to the couple, marking a departure from the format viewers had come to expect.

The decision marked one of the biggest format changes in the show’s history. While Peacock has not officially explained the move, several entertainment outlets noted that the envelope twist had become largely symbolic, as winners across the Love Island franchise have consistently chosen to share the prize money.

For Trinity and Bryce, the cash prize capped off a season in which their relationship steadily gained support from viewers. They developed a partnership that many fans viewed as genuine throughout the latter part of the season. That consistency helped them secure enough public votes to finish ahead of fellow finalists Carl Schmidt and Aniya Harvey, Sincere Rhea and Melanie Moreno, and Zach Georgiou and Kayda Bosse.

The prize money is only part of what comes with winning Love Island USA. Former Islanders have often turned their television exposure into careers through brand partnerships, modelling, podcasts, hosting roles and social media campaigns. For many contestants, those opportunities can become more lucrative than the prize money itself.

Since leaving the villa, Trinity has already used her platform to urge fans to stop directing abuse toward fellow contestant Zach Georgiou, reminding viewers that the Islanders are real people adjusting to life outside the show. Bryce and several cast members publicly backed her message, showing that some of the friendships formed during the season have continued beyond the cameras.

Their victory places them among the winners of Love Island USA as they begin the next chapter of their lives outside the villa, with the show’s $100,000 prize and a growing public profile following their time on screen.
