Pam Hogg, Boundary-Breaking British Designer and Cultural Provocateur, Dies at 66

Published

on

Pam Hogg’s death on 26 November 2025 was confirmed by her family. They said she died at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney, where she was with close relatives. Tributes from designers, musicians and long-time collaborators followed almost immediately. Their responses underscored the distinct space she occupied within British fashion and the wider creative scene.

Born in Paisley, Scotland, Hogg began making clothes as a child and later studied Fine Art and Printed Textiles at Glasgow School of Art before completing her master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London. By the early 1980s she was part of the capital’s club circuit, where self-made outfits functioned as a point of entry and a form of identification. Her first collection, Psychedelic Jungle (1981), established the visual language she would return to repeatedly. It featured sharp contours, saturated colour and a punk-rooted confidence that resisted softening.

Hogg became closely associated with the latex catsuit, which she produced in various interpretations over decades. She approached the piece as a sculptural garment that altered how a wearer presented themselves. Her work attracted artists who were comfortable with strong visual statements, among them Debbie Harry, Björk, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyoncé. Their use of her designs helped keep her work visible outside traditional fashion channels, even during periods when she was not showing on major schedules.

When the 1990s pushed fashion toward minimalism, Hogg stepped away from the runway and focused on music. She performed with her band Doll, toured with established artists and directed her own videos and stage concepts. The shift aligned with the way she moved across creative spaces without adjusting her perspective to match prevailing trends.

Her return to fashion in 2009 marked a new phase. Even then, her working model stayed the same. She produced her pieces herself in her East London studio and continued to show collections that prioritised concept over commercial viability. By 2012 she was presenting in Paris. The work remained firmly connected to her earlier ethos. Her 2024 collection addressed themes of conflict and injustice and incorporated recycled materials. It reflected her habit of responding directly to current issues rather than re-using past ideas.

The response to her death reflects her position within London’s underground and alternative fashion communities, as well as her influence on performers and stylists working far beyond those circles. Hogg maintained an independent practice for more than four decades, moving through fashion, music and art on her own terms. Her career shows how a designer can operate inside the industry while remaining deliberately outside its centre. It also shows how such an approach can shape conversations around identity, performance and self-presentation.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged vows during a private wedding ceremony, marking a new chapter in their relationship after months of speculation about their plans to marry.

The couple married during a private ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday, surrounded by family, friends and guests from the worlds of music, film and sport.

A notable moment during the ceremony came as Swift walked down the aisle to an orchestral arrangement of one of her own songs. Instead of a traditional bridal march, she chose music from her own catalogue, adding a personal touch before the vows were exchanged.

The couple did not have a traditional bridal party. Swift’s brother, Austin, served as her Man of Honour, while Kelce’s brother, Jason, was Best Man. The ceremony was officiated by actor Adam Sandler.

According to reports, the couple’s vows included both emotional moments and humour. Guests said the vows reflected their relationship and included light-hearted jokes alongside their promises to one another.

Swift wore a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding gown designed by Jonathan Anderson, paired with Cartier jewellery and Christian Louboutin shoes. Kelce wore a custom Dior suit for the ceremony.

Security around the event was tight, with guests reportedly asked to leave their phones behind to protect the couple’s privacy. The venue was kept secret until guests began arriving.

Guests included Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Hugh Grant and several NFL players, reflecting the couple’s connections across entertainment and professional sport.

Hailey Bieber Stars in Skims’ Latest Everyday Cotton Campaign

Published

Hailey Bieber is the newest face of Skims’ Everyday Cotton campaign, appearing in a campaign for a collection built around wardrobe staples rather than trend-driven pieces.

The model and Rhode founder fronts the latest campaign for the brand’s cotton collection, bringing her signature off-duty style to imagery centred on comfort, fit and everyday wear. Photographed by Mert Alas, the campaign presents Bieber in a series of cotton bras, bralettes and underwear sets designed for daily use. The styling remains minimal, reflecting the direction Skims has taken with its Everyday Cotton range since the collection was introduced earlier this year.

Among the featured pieces are the Triangle Bralette, Hipster, Thong and other core styles from the collection. The campaign also introduces the soft pink “Peony” shade, which appears alongside the neutral colours that have become a defining part of the Skims identity.

Kim Kardashian, co-founder and chief creative officer of Skims, said Bieber was a suitable choice for the campaign because of her ability to make simple essentials feel current and relevant. The partnership continues the brand’s approach of pairing recognisable personalities with product-focused campaigns that highlight its core collections rather than seasonal fashion trends.

In statements released alongside the campaign, Bieber described quality basics as the foundation of her wardrobe and praised the Everyday Cotton range for its comfort, softness and versatility. According to Bieber, these are pieces she wears regularly because they can be worn in different settings.

The Everyday Cotton collection was launched in February as a permanent addition to the Skims catalogue. The range includes ten bra and underwear styles available in an extended size range, reinforcing the brand’s focus on accessibility and everyday practicality.

The campaign also marks Bieber’s first major Skims partnership despite her long-standing connection to the Kardashian-Jenner circle. It places her at the centre of one of the label’s key product categories.

The collection focuses on everyday basics intended for repeated wear, a message reflected throughout the campaign. The launch highlights practical wardrobe essentials and the continued expansion of Skims’ cotton range.
