Idris Elba received a knighthood from King Charles during an investiture ceremony on June 2. The recognition was awarded for his services to young people, following its announcement in the New Year Honors list.

The royal family shared a photo from the moment on their official Instagram page shortly after, with a caption “Congratulations to everyone who received honors at today’s Investiture ceremonies, hosted by The King at Windsor Castle.”

Elba reposted on his Instagram Stories writing “We are thankful. The work continues.”

Sir Idris is known for his roles in The Wire and Luther, and has built a career across film, television, and music. He has also been actively involved in projects focused on supporting and empowering young people.

In 2022, he co-founded the Elba Hope Foundation alongside his wife, Sabrina Elba. The organization focuses on community empowerment and creating opportunities for underserved communities.

In an interview with People magazine, Elba spoke about the New Year Honors list; “I haven’t really spoken about it, but I will say that it’s a real honor to be recognized for the work, especially trying to make as much noise for young people and the things that some of them are going through. So it feels like an honor. My family is honored by it. I don’t even know how to talk about it.” He said.

Idris Elba was not the only one honored at the ceremony. Olympic champions Dame Jayne Torvill and Sir Christopher Dean also received a damehood and knighthood for their services to ice skating and voluntary work.

Actress and comedian Dame Meera Syal was also recognised for her contributions to literature, drama, and charity.

Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham attended the Kinéo Awards in Venice on September 5, marking one of their most prominent joint appearances in recent months.

The couple attended the ceremony, held during the Venice Film Festival, where Nicola received the Rising Star Award in recognition of her work as an actress, screenwriter and producer. The Kinéo Awards are separate from the official Venice Film Festival programme.

Nicola’s award comes as she continues to build her film career. She is attached to Prima, a ballet drama in which she stars alongside Faye Dunaway. Dunaway was also honoured at the ceremony, receiving a lifetime achievement award.

For the occasion, Nicola wore a deep violet Balenciaga Haute Couture gown. The floor-length design had a fitted bodice, cut-out details at the waist and a full skirt, giving the dress a distinctly structured shape. She kept her accessories minimal, with her hair and make-up also kept relatively understated.

Brooklyn wore a black-and-white tuxedo, pairing a black jacket and trousers with a white shirt and bow tie. His classic tailoring provided a simple contrast to Nicola’s more distinctive dress.

The couple were photographed together throughout the evening, including several affectionate moments on the red carpet. Their appearance comes as they have faced continued media attention over reports of tensions between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

Nicola referred to Brooklyn during her acceptance speech, thanking him alongside members of her family. She also acknowledged Dunaway, with whom she shares the cast of Prima.

The Venice appearance placed Nicola’s latest professional recognition alongside the couple’s return to a major red-carpet event. With the Rising Star Award adding to her recent film work, the evening gave her an opportunity to draw attention to a career that extends beyond her role as part of the Beckham family.

Tyson Fury Confirms Anthony Joshua Fight at Madison Square Garden

Published

Tyson Fury has announced that his long-awaited fight with Anthony Joshua is set to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, bringing the proposed all-British heavyweight clash to the United States.

Fury revealed the venue on Instagram, posting promotional artwork of himself and Joshua against the New York skyline and describing the venue and fight as “iconic”. However, Joshua and his promoter, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, had not formally confirmed the announcement at the time of the latest reports.

The distinction is important because the location has been one of the main issues in negotiations.

Photo: Instagram/@Anthony Joshua

Joshua’s existing agreement reportedly stipulated that the fight should take place in the UK. His camp has also raised concerns about the financial implications of staging the contest in the United States, including the impact of US taxation on Joshua’s earnings.

A move to New York would nevertheless give the fight an international setting and take it to one of boxing’s most recognisable venues. Netflix is involved in the event, while Saudi boxing organiser Turki Alalshikh is also backing the proposed contest.

November 20 has emerged as the target date, although Fury did not include an official date in his announcement.

The fight has taken years to reach this point. Fury and Joshua were close to meeting in 2021, but those plans collapsed after a US court ruled that Fury had to honour his contractual obligation to face Deontay Wilder.

Since then, both fighters have taken very different paths. Joshua has won and lost world titles, including defeats by Oleksandr Usyk and Andy Ruiz Jr., before rebuilding his career. Fury remained unbeaten for years before suffering back-to-back defeats by Usyk in 2024.

Fury subsequently stepped away from boxing before returning to the ring in 2026. Joshua has also returned to action, leaving both men in position for a fight that has remained one of boxing’s biggest unresolved matchups.

Neither fighter arrives at this stage of his career with the record he once had. That makes the proposed contest less about establishing who was the dominant heavyweight of the previous era and more about what each man can produce now.

Photo: Instagram/@Tyson Fury

The stylistic contrast also remains significant. Fury’s size, reach and movement would present Joshua with a different challenge from many of his recent opponents, while Joshua’s punching power gives him the ability to change a fight with a single sequence.

Moving the contest to Madison Square Garden would also give it a different character from a potential Wembley meeting. Instead of staging an all-British heavyweight fight on home soil, the organisers would be taking it to New York, where both fighters would be competing in unfamiliar surroundings.

For Fury, the announcement signals his preference for the venue. For Joshua’s camp, the remaining question is whether the financial and contractual terms allow the move from the UK to the US to go ahead.

That means the next major development will need to come from Joshua’s side.

Fury has put Madison Square Garden on the table and November 20 remains the reported target. If the remaining terms are agreed, one of British boxing’s most persistent unfinished matchups will finally have a confirmed venue and date.

Tom Hardy Launches Rap Career With Debut Album as Frankie Pulitzer

Tom Hardy has released his debut rap album under the name Frankie Pulitzer, teaming up with hip-hop collective Czarface for Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer.

The 15-track album was released on 28 August and includes collaborations with Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EL-P. It also marks the latest chapter in a musical interest Hardy has pursued since his teenage years.

Hardy began recording rap music in the 1990s with producer Edward Tracy. Some of their early recordings later appeared online, giving fans an insight into a side of Hardy’s creative life that had remained largely separate from his acting career.

His association with Czarface began years before the album’s release. Hardy collaborated with the group in 2021 and later appeared on “Knull & Void”, a track connected to Venom: The Last Dance. The partnership eventually developed into a full album.

Hardy’s acting career is also referenced throughout the project. On “Raw Forever”, which features Busta Rhymes, he draws on several films and comic-book characters, including his own work in the Marvel universe.

He also returns to one of his most recognisable roles on “Grim-Visaged War”. The track features Hardy using the voice he created for Bane in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. He combines the character’s distinctive delivery with lines from Shakespeare’s Richard III.

The album does not shy away from Hardy’s sense of humour. “Mad Technology”, featuring Method Man, includes a crude reference to actor Kathy Bates alongside references to Stephen King’s Misery.

Czarface’s involvement gives the project a clear connection to underground hip-hop. The group, formed by rapper-producer 7L, rapper Esoteric and Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck, is known for its comic-book references and densely written tracks. That approach fits naturally with Hardy’s own interest in film, comics and character-driven storytelling.

For Hardy, however, music is not a new experiment. His early recordings predate the fame that came with films including Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road and the Venom franchise.

The release of Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer simply puts a much larger audience in front of a part of Hardy’s creative life that has existed for years. This time, he is not appearing as a film character. He is releasing music under his own rap alias.
