3 Makeup Tutorials for Beginners

Published

on

Makeup is an amazing tool for changing not only your appearance but also boosting confidence and self-expression. With so many products available, beginners often find it difficult to make a choice and struggle to know where to begin. However, with a little effort and patience, anyone can learn the basics of makeup and open up a world of creativity and self-discovery.

As a beginner, it’s important to remember that your face is unique, and so is your view of makeup. Makeup is about enhancing your natural beauty, not covering up your flaws. By embracing this mindset, you’ll be able to unlock your full potential and discover a more confident, beautiful you.

Truth is, your makeup journey will be so much easier if you figure out your own special makeup routine and know which options best suit you. Since makeup is so personal, there’s no one ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to apply it; it’s best to experiment and find what works best for you.

Are you new to makeup? If so, the makeup world may seem extremely frightening. Knowing a product’s contents, suitability for your skin type, and application is key. With that said, here are simple ways to apply makeup as a beginner. Remember, it’s not just about the makeup, it’s also about your confidence.

Natural Look:

The goal of this look is to highlight your natural qualities without hiding them.

1. Prep your skin with a moisturizer, this helps to hydrate your skin before makeup application.

2. Apply foundation using a brush or beauty sponge, but its advisable to use a beauty sponge for even and smooth blend. (concealer also can be used, remember with concealer use a shade or two lighter than your foundation.)

3. Use blush on cheek, blend for an even look, so its not heavy on one side.

4. Draw your eyebrow, when drawing your eyebrows follow the natural line of your face. They should start where your nose meets the bridge, and end at the outer corner of your eye. To fill them in, use a pencil or gel that’s the same color as your hair.

5. Eyes, apply a warm shade of eyeshadow and use mascara for your lashes.

6. Finish off your look with a nude lip gloss.

Bold Lip:

Using a bold lip color can be a great way to make a statement. Select a lip color—such as crimson, caramel, plum, or bright red—that goes well with your skin tone. First, prep your lip with a lip primer to keep your lips hydrated. Use a lipliner that matches the color of your lipstick to line your lips, this will keep your lipstick from spreading or bleeding and also define your lips. Fill in your lips, make sure the rest of your makeup is neutral and basic to counterbalance your dramatic lip. If you prefer a glossy finish, add a lip gloss.

Smokey eyes:

It should work with a little blush or bronzer, mascara, and light foundation. If you want to make a big, glitzy statement, this look is ideal for a night out or a special occasion. Start by applying eye primer on the skin around the eyes for an even surface. Next apply concealer, this will help create the perfect clean layer and pop you intend to bring out of the smokey eyes.

As a beginner it’s advisable to use a brown shade as base, choose other colors of your choice and blend to contour the eyes. Finally, Create a small wing that extends only to cover the smokey tip then connect the outer wing with the lower lash line. To bring out a fully framed bright-looking smokey-eye look. Combine this eye look with a nude lip.

The important thing is to practice and try different looks. Remember to have fun and don’t be scared to experiment with different colors or ways!

Victoria Beckham Goes Blonde for Easter

Published

Victoria Beckham is currently in Miami for the opening of husband David Beckham’s Nu Stadium, a $750 million project that has just been completed, drawing the Beckham family together for the occasion. Alongside the appearance, she has also been seen with a noticeably lighter hair tone over the Easter period, first appearing in understated images shared online where the change unfolded gradually instead of being formally introduced.

Publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar often portray Beckham’s beauty changes as an extension of her fashion identity as opposed to standalone transformations. The shift to blonde sits neatly within her established visual strategy: small, controlled updates that refresh her look without disrupting recognisability.

Photo – Instagram

This is not high-contrast platinum or a trend-led colour choice. Instead, it sits within a soft, natural-looking blonde that complements her features and aligns with her signature restraint. Beckham’s brand has long favoured precision over experimentation, and the hair change follows that same logic. It softens her overall appearance slightly, while keeping attention anchored on her tailoring and styling choices.

Easter, positioned between major fashion cycles, also offers a less busy window for visual change. It allows updates like this to circulate without competing against runway momentum or seasonal campaign intensity. Fashion media often pays attention to these in-between moments, as they tend to signal continuity instead of disruption.

Lighter tones also interact more effectively with natural and artificial light in photography, which matters across campaigns, street style imagery and social platforms. For someone whose public image is closely tied to a fashion label, consistency across visuals is essential. The blonde tone contributes to a cleaner, more consistent visual identity without requiring a shift in styling direction.

The narrative around the change remains tightly controlled. There is no striking “before and after” framing, nor any sense of reinvention for its own sake. Instead, the adjustment is integrated into her existing image language, instead of challenging it.

Looking as stylish as ever, the 51-year-old designer stepped out in a dazzling white outfit from her namesake label at the event. The tailored look featured wide-leg trousers, a structured blazer, and a plunging top, balancing sharp precision with understated allure.

Ultimately, this is not a transformation designed to redirect attention. It is a measured refinement. Beckham continues to adjust just enough to remain visually current, while preserving the core identity she has built over decades. That balance is precisely why even a small change, like going blonde, reads less as a departure and more as a continuation of her established style narrative.
