Romeo Beckham Trades Modelling for Acting Debut in New Queer Film ‘Forty Love’

Romeo Beckham is taking a new step in his career, moving from the fashion world to the big screen with his first acting role in the upcoming queer sports drama Forty Love.

The 23-year-old, who has built a profile as a model after stepping away from football, has been cast in the tennis-centred romance alongside French actors Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin. The project marks Beckham’s first screen role.

Forty Love follows rising tennis player Sacha Gallo, played by Paul Kircher, as he prepares for a major tournament in Paris under the guidance of his father. The story centres on the relationship that develops when a new rival enters his life. Beckham plays the competitor whose arrival changes both the dynamics of the competition and Sacha’s personal life.

The film explores the connection between the two players alongside the pressures of professional sport.

The film is directed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, a fashion photographer making his feature directorial debut. Carlotti co-wrote the screenplay, and the cast also includes Catherine Deneuve. The production is backed by Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, with Studiocanal and Manna Studios serving as co-producers.

For Beckham, the role represents another career shift. After spending parts of his youth in football systems linked to Arsenal, Inter Miami and Brentford, he increasingly focused on fashion, working with luxury labels and appearing on major runways and campaigns.
