The announcement came weeks after the release of his fifth studio album, Konnakol, leaving fans waiting for updates on refunds, rescheduled performances and the future of the tour.
In a message shared on Instagram, Malik thanked fans for their support during his recovery, revealing that he had been admitted to hospital in April. While he did not disclose the exact nature of the illness, he said he was recovering at home and expected to return soon.

The singer’s Konnakol Tour was set to include more than 30 shows across Europe, North America and South America. The revised schedule reduces the tour to nine performances. All planned US dates have been removed, while several UK and Ireland concerts have also been cancelled.
Among the affected shows are performances in Dublin, Glasgow and Birmingham, alongside US arena stops including Philadelphia, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and Boston. Manchester’s original opening-night show was also postponed and moved to a later date in May.
The remaining dates are expected to begin at London’s O2 Arena later this month before continuing through Mexico and South America.

The cancellation follows concern among fans after Malik posted a photograph from a hospital bed on the same day Konnakol was released. At the time, the singer revealed that he had unexpectedly fallen ill and was unable to complete scheduled promotional appearances linked to the album rollout.
The cancellation also interrupts Malik’s recent return to live performances. Over the past year, he had gradually returned to the stage through a Las Vegas residency and the earlier Stairway to the Sky Tour, which marked an increase in his live appearances as a solo artist.
Konnakol, named after the South Indian vocal percussion tradition, featured experimental production and more personal subject matter than some of Malik’s earlier releases. The tour was expected to support the album through international performances.

For many fans, the cancellations are disappointing. Malik has previously spoken openly about the pressures of touring and public life, including struggles with anxiety during both his solo career and his years in One Direction. His departure from the group in 2015 was also linked to stress connected to touring.
Despite the setback, Malik’s latest statement suggested he is prioritising his recovery while continuing with selected performances.
Promoters have yet to confirm whether the cancelled dates will be rescheduled or permanently removed from the tour calendar.
