Jessie J has confirmed that she and longtime partner Chanan Safir Colman have ended their relationship after nearly five years together. The singer shared the news in an Instagram statement, revealing that they separated some time ago but chose to keep the decision private while they adjusted to life as co-parents.
The announcement comes three years after the couple welcomed their son, Sky, in May 2023. Jessie said they decided to share the news themselves instead of allowing rumours to spread. She described the split as “sad and difficult” and said their main priority is co-parenting their son.

The British singer also said there is no public feud behind the breakup and asked fans to respect their privacy. She explained that she wanted to address the separation herself to avoid false stories about their family.
Jessie and Colman began dating in 2021. The retired professional basketball player supported the singer through several major moments in her personal life, including her treatment for early-stage breast cancer. Earlier this year, Jessie announced that she was cancer-free after completing treatment.
The split follows a period of major change for the singer. Alongside motherhood and her recovery, Jessie returned to music and has spoken about how becoming a parent changed her outlook. She previously said marriage could be part of their future but that there was no pressure to rush into it, adding that she hoped Sky would be old enough to enjoy the occasion if they eventually married.
Although their romantic relationship has ended, Jessie and Colman said they remain committed to co-parenting their son. They have asked for privacy as they begin this new chapter while continuing to raise Sky together.
