Published

on

Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 17 Pro Max in September, with sales starting on the 19th. The launch has already drawn queues in stores and seen online sell-outs, particularly for the new Cosmic Orange edition.

Display and Performance

One of the headline features is the 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display. With its sharp resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and improved outdoor brightness, the screen is built for clarity and speed. Powering it is the new A19 Pro chip paired with 12GB of RAM, delivering faster performance across apps and games while extending efficiency. Apple reports up to 39 hours of video playback, the longest yet on an iPhone.

Camera Upgrades

The camera system continues to be a major focus. Three 48-megapixel lenses cover wide, ultra-wide and telephoto ranges, while a redesigned sensor enables what Apple calls “optical-quality” zoom of up to eight times. Improvements in low-light capture and portrait mode enhance versatility, bringing sharper results across different conditions.

Storage and Connectivity

Storage has expanded significantly. In addition to 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options, Apple has added a 2TB model, the largest ever on an iPhone. Combined with Wi-Fi 7 and upgraded Bluetooth support, the Pro Max is designed to handle both heavy media use and professional creative workflows.

Design Changes

Apple has also adjusted the design. The titanium frame has been replaced with aluminium, making the phone slightly lighter while keeping its durability. The enlarged camera housing signals the technical leap in imaging hardware.

Pricing

Prices begin at $1,199 in the US, with UK costs varying depending on storage. In parts of Europe, the 2TB version rises well above £2,000.

Conclusion

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is positioned as Apple’s most advanced model yet, setting a clear reference point in the smartphone market for performance, design and imaging power.
